What You Already Know – What Are Dental Consumables?
The phrase ‘dental consumables’ is an umbrella term for any single-use dental equipment and surgical supplies that are used for individual patients. Whether essential protective accessories, or items regularly reached for by dental professionals, dental consumables include everything from needles, a ready-to-use syringe, saliva ejectors, impression trays, dental materials, restorative materials and water purifiers to gauze, cotton applicators, instruments, gloves, masks, cups and bibs. Basically, anything that can only be used once during oral surgery, restorative procedures or endodontic treatment to ensure safety and hygiene standards are maintained. Once used, new products are then used for the next patients and the next dental procedures.
What Are The Benefits Of Dental Consumables To Your Patients And Your Dental Practice?
Dental consumables, or disposable dental products, help to promote patient safety by reducing infection risk, as well as cross-contamination. This ensures that optimal dental practice hygiene standards can be met and maintained. Consumable dental products also help to save dental professionals and your dental practice time and resources. This is because they remove the need for an extensive cleaning, disinfecting, sanitising and sterilisation process of dental products and equipment.
What Dental Consumables Do We Offer At J&S Davis? – Take A Look At Our Comprehensive Range For Dental Professionals…
SOLO, by J&S Davis, sits alongside the wide variety of other dental brands and popular products we distribute, and was created as part of our initiative to become a one-stop shop for all things dental. Joining the dental industry in 1964 with one of the first fully disposable dental needles, SOLO, has remained at the forefront of disposable dental innovation since its launch. After only one year of distribution, SOLO’s needles generated several million sales, which cemented their position in the dental industry and market. Since then, we have launched various new products, all designed with maximum ease, efficiency and quality in mind. Renowned by dental professionals and suitable for various dental needs, all SOLO products are a practical and effective addition to your dental practice. Do not be fooled by their single-use nature; complex research and development has gone into ensuring they help with infection control and ensure sanitation, whilst also guaranteeing excellent performance. Here’s a look at our range:
Impression Trays: SOLO’s impression trays are 100% recyclable and are flexible to your exact requirements. With smoother rims for improved patient comfort and an anatomically rigid design for greater impression accuracy, they combine the dental needs of both patients and dental professionals. The rigid material also allows for the use of a wide range of impression materials, supported by the impression tray’s large perforations for improved flow of alginate. Alongside this, they have a unique handle-and-tray interlock system. This makes insertion and removal easy and efficient.
Saliva Ejectors: These latex-free, plastic products promise excellent performance and are adjustable to any shape.
SOLO Needles: As mentioned, SOLO’s disposable dental needles were, and still are, one of the world’s first single-use disposable needles. Available in both long and short lengths, these products boast a special coating and triple-bevel lancet for more direct placement of anaesthetic. Both of which help to ensure optimal patient comfort. Made from imperial thread, the hub design of these products also accommodates wider thread tolerances from various cartridge syringe makes.
SOLO Water Purifier: SOLO’s water purifiers are a self-contained, wall-mounted piece of equipment. These mixed-bed ion-exchange purifiers use a simple-to-change SOLO cartridge with a colour-change exhaustion indicator. Their function is to produce water that may be used in any autoclave or machine that requires de-ionised water. Also available for our SOLO water purifiers are our SOLO Water Cartridge Spare Parts.
